I remove myself from the daily grind of politics, war, and foreign affairs for 4 days and when I return it's almost like the world suddenly decided to run amok. The ongoing violence between the Israelis and the Palestinines suddenly spiraled in ever-tightening circles of attack and counterattack. Human rights groups around the world are protesting the military's handling of the detainees -- detainees that have clearly stated they will kill again given the opportunity. Tax cuts. No tax cuts. Deferred tax cuts. And the temperature's been hovering around -30 since last week. And when I opened Mulberry this morning, I had over 700 emails to wade through. Good grief.
Thank you to everyone who wrote to express condolences. I promise at least a brief reply as soon as I get my ducks realigned. Which will hopefully be sooner rather than later.
And now I need to get some sleep. I'm exhausted -- I've been fighting the flu since last Friday and the effort is starting to wear me out.
Some acronyms for you, compliments of Ed Bloedorn:
